Australian submarine fails to sell at auction

A former Navy submarine berthed in Victoria’s Western Port Bay has failed to sell at auction.

The Western Port Oberon Association owns the 2,000-tonne HMAS Otama and put it on online auction site ebay after they were denied permission to bring it ashore at Hastings and turn it into a maritime museum.

The asking price was $4.9 million.
