An auction of Bay East Furniture, Decorative Arts, Marine and Childhood Collectables is to be to be held in Bonhams & Goodman new galleries at 224 Young Street Waterloo on Wednesday 28 November at 10am.

The sale is extravagant in its size and diversity. It features a number of private collections and deceased estates and will be sold mostly without reserve.

The English and European porcelain includes Royal Worcester with pieces painted by the Stintons and other notable artists, Royal Doulton specimen pieces by Charles Noke and a Loving Cup from the ‘Famous Ship Series’; The Sirius. There is a range of more functional porcelain such as dinner services including an extensive Bing and Grondahl/ Royal Copenhagen Seagull service and for collectors of Wedgwood, we have a vast collection of jasperware.

There is an excellent private collection of 20th century glass from French, Italian and Scandinavian factories such as Lalique, Sabino, Kosta, Orrefors and Venini as well as Victorian and Edwardian items. The furniture provides a wonderful opportunity for those looking to buy, particularly for Christmas, with a wide selection of dining tables and chairs ranging from traditional Victorian and Edwardian mahogany extension examples to French provincial ones in all shapes and sizes. In addition, there is a wide offering of chests of drawers, armoires and wardrobes, display cabinets and 20th century upholstered sofas and armchairs. There are some outstanding alabaster, marble and bronze decorative items such as a monumental pedestal urn and a number of figural sculptures, perfect for the conservatory or garden.
