Thieves asked to return stolen antiques to hospital

Thieves who stole $300,000 in antique jewellery from a Wodonga antiques fair have been asked to return them, no questions asked.

Diamond earings and rings were stolen from outside the Albury-Wodonga Antiques Fair on Sunday.

The goods were stolen when a jeweller packing his car turned his back on a bag filled with the jewels for 15 seconds.

Fair organiser Kerry Middleton says the jewellery can be returned to Wodonga Hospital.

“If they would like, the hospital, because that is who we are raising the money for or ring Greg Pearl at the hospital and say, ‘look, they are at the corner of Brockley and High Street’, that kind of thing – we would just like them back.”
